International Baccalaureate Art Show at CDCI East
On Thursday April 25, Cobourg East held its Annual International Baccalaureate Student Art Show. The I.B. Art program requires students to do research in art history, make connections to global concerns and produce a body of work which is evaluated by a panel of international examiners. Directed by Visual Art and Theory of Knowledge (a branch of philosophy) teacher, James Matheson, three students completed the rigorous requirements of this program: Emiliana Calderon-Donefer, Sophie Hough and Taylor Merriam. Emiliana explored her Guatamalan roots, political art and Expressionism. Sophie Hough produced a body of work based on new interpretaions of Greek Myths and Taylor Merriam's portraits were inspired by people from a variety of cultures.
