Peterborough police looking for shoplifting suspects

By The Peterborough Examiner

Images of two people suspected of stealing from a local retailer have been released by city police in an effort to track them down.

Police say a woman took electronic items from the Chemong Rd. Walmart on Aug. 24 at about 5 p.m. It's alleged that the thief removed the electronic security devices from the items, concealed them and left without paying. Their value is more than $500.

The woman returned to the store at 8:15 p.m. Aug. 27, this time with a man, and did the same thing, police say, leaving with $950 in merchandise without paying.
The first suspect is a white woman, 30-40 years old, with reddish blond hair. She was wearing a black T-short with “NO” written on it, black leggings and pink shoes.

The second is a white male, mid-30s, with short brown hair. He was wearing a purple T-shirt under a long-sleeved grey dress shirt, black pants, black and white shoes and a ball cap.

Anyone with information is asked to call police at 705-876-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or www.stopcrimehere.ca.
