Cobourg website wins international award
The Town of Cobourg has been honoured as an early-entrant winner of this year’s Hermes Creative Awards competition, winning a Gold Award in the Government category for their website design-and-development project.
The announcement from the town cited its partnership with eSolutionsGroup, a leading Canadian digital-solutions company specializing in public-sector products and services, in the 12-month revision of the municipal website that greatly increased its look, feel and functionality.
In the press release, communications officer Ashley Purdy said she was pleased with both the website and the recognition it received in the Hermes Creative Award.
“We have markedly improved how the site functions, enhanced the content and have a clean and uncluttered design,” Purdy stated.
“This is another way in which we can communicate in real time to our citizens on issues that matter to them.”
An international awards competition for creative professionals in the marketing and communications industry, the Hermes Creative Awards is one of the largest competitions of its kind and honours “the messengers and creators of traditional and emerging media” in 195 different categories. The administration of the award, including its adjudication, is provided by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals, an international organization made up of several thousand marketing, communication, advertising, public-relations, media-production and free-lance professionals.
Entries for the competition come from corporate marketing and communications departments, advertising agencies, public-relations firms, graphic-design shops, production companies, web and digital creators, and freelancers. There were than 6,000 entries this year from around the world, and a complete list of award winners was announced May 1.
eSolutionsGroup president Karen Mayfield said one of her company’s core values is achieving excellence through collaboration with clients.
“To have that excellence recognized on an international level, well that’s just amazing — for our clients, for us and for the audiences our clients serve.”
