PORT HOPE -

The young musicians in the SONG program — Sounds of the Next Generation — will join Safe Harbour in presenting a Dec. 17 concert called Together At Christmas.

For several years now, a local SONG organization has brought together members of the community to provide musical instruction to underserved children, both instrumental and choral.

Meanwhile, executive director Shannon Linton said, the adult chamber choir Safe Harbour has served as mentors for the young performers.

“They sing in every SONG concert, and also hold annual coffee-house style fundraisers for SONG,” Linton said.

The Dec. 17 performance gives them the chance to perform on the same bill.

The 3 p.m. show will be held at Port Hope United Church (34 South St.), and all proceeds will support the SONG program.

Tickets are $5, at the door and available in advance from Ten Thousand Villages in downtown Cobourg.
