The benefits that flow to all members of the community from shopping locally are well known and appreciated.

For Pamela Tate of the Tate Gallery in Canton, that includes supporting your local artisans as well as your local farmer.

The Tate Gallery will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 19 and 20 for her Holiday Gift Market, an opportunity to browse among lovingly crafted ornaments, stocking stuffers, cards, hostess gifts and more in a relaxed and congenial atmosphere.

“We will have a wide variety of unique items for sale, all home-made — soaps and other spa treats, baby accessories, hostess gifts, tree ornaments, cards, truffles and baked goods, block prints, jewellery, 100%-linen towels, fine art, home decor,” Tate listed.

“There will be warm cider on the wood stove, and a rocking chair nearby for those who wish to linger. It will be the antithesis to shopping at a mall.”

The gallery is located at 4599 Massey Rd. In Canton, and everyone is welcome.
