COBOURG -

Growing in popularity each year, Cobourg's sixth annual Winter Photography Contest once again invites residents and visitors to submit photos of the seasons for a chance at some great prize packages.

In a press release from the town, events co-ordinator Lara Scott said last year was a banner year for the contest, with more than 72 entries received.

“The contest does a terrific job in showcasing the creative talent we have here in Cobourg, and we encourage citizens of all skill levels to enter," Scott said.

The competition is open to photographers of all skill levels to have their unpublished original work selected as best capturing the fun, spirit, joy or perhaps frustration of the seasons. Entries can depict scenes from Cobourg, or anywhere in the world.

For full contest details and an entry form, visit www.cobourgtourism.ca or www.cobourg.ca or call 905-372-5481 ex. 4150. The deadline for entries is Jan. 24.

Judging will be done by an independent panel of professional photo-journalists during the first week of February, with selections based on contet and photographic stylisic elements. There will be cash prizes for the first-, second- and third-place winners.

All entries will be displayed at Northumberland Mall throughout the month of February, with the winning entries featured on town websites at www.cobourgtourism.ca and www.cobourg.ca .

As a kick-off to the sixth annual Cobourg Winter Festivities, this is just one of many features of the annual festival on Feb. 15 and 16. The list includes free skating at the outdoor rink, ice-carving demonstrations, horse-drawn wagon rides and much more.

A full program can be viewed at www.cobourgtourism.ca.
