On Friday September 28th, 2012 a small envelope and miniature stack of books was discovered on the welcome mat of The Gates of Presqu’ile, headquarters of the Brighton Arts Council. Inside the tiny envelope, a letter measuring just a few inches with miniscule type, revealed that fairies would be taking up residence in the abandoned miniature golf area beside the Arts and Culture building for the month of October.

An investigation of the site seems to confirm the claims. The mossy, overgrown area has become home to tiny tents, wee tee-pees, a nest of goblin eggs, fairy houses and even a hobbit door.

The discovery comes as the BAC kicks off October is Arts Month. Throughout the month long celebration of the arts and creativity, visitors to The Gates are invited to explore the fairy inhabited area.

Although the author of the letter states that they “will try to keep the mischief, rascality and shenanigans to a minimum” , one local fairy expert believes there could be a few more surprises this month.
