The Apple Route
Nestled in the rolling hills of Eastern Ontario's "Apple Country", the Apple Route meanders through pleasant orchards and friendly towns & villages between Colborne (401 exit 497) and Trenton (401 exit 525). The core of the Apple Route follows signs along Heritage Highway 2 with exits to scenic locales such as Presqu'ile Park near Brighton, historical Lakeport, Fort Kente at Carrying Place where you can connects to the Loyalist Parkway and Prince Edward County.
Enjoy rural life...buy fresh vegetables at the many roadside markets, pick your own fruit and enjoy a cup of freshly pressed cider. Numerous craft stores and roadside markets carry apple themed items, and enjoy the Apple Route "Volksmarches", which take you along scenic walks.
