Dr. Wayne Woodland of the

Spring Street Chiropractic,

271 Spring St., Cobourg is organizing a toy drive for second year. The goal is to try to beat last year's totals of 450 toys and over $2000 worth of services.

"This year I am joined by our chiropodist Diane Tyczynski, our naturopathic doctor Dr. George Tardik and our massage therapist Theresa Harding," Dr. Woodland says. "All are donating a day's worth of services in lieu of toys for payment Wednesday, Dec. 2."

Toys can be dropped off anytime prior or on that day if patients do not have an appointment. The office is serving as a drop off centre for those who wish to just purchase a new unwrapped toy for those in need. For those having an appointment on Wednesday, you are asked to donate the toys of equal value to the treatment they are receiving (approximately $40).

Toys, etc. are being delivered to the Salvation Army so they can be donated to local children in the community. Help make Christmas wishes come true. For information, call Brenda 905-372-1616.

This is Barrett's 40th season. The farm was operated for many years by the Parlette family. Their daughter Diana, her husband Bob, and children Ryan and Julie took over operations in 2000. Ross, Diana's father, is still active in the grove. Each spring the family plants young seedlings, replacing any trees cut at Christmas. New varieties are being planted to expand the selection. Christmas trees are a renewable resource that add oxygen to the environment and provide a habitat to many birds and animals.

A new attraction this year is our geocache. Bring along your GPS and try our multi-cache challenge.
