COBOURG — The last of three local events focusing on First People's "Gatherings" will be held Friday, Nov. 27 evening at CDCI East.

Hosted by the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board, the event will feature local aboriginal talent and "celebrate the inspirations" of the culture, tradition, and world view of First Nations, Metis and Inuit. Among those participating is the Sugar Island Singers and Alderville Youth Drum Group.

Buses are available from the Alderville Band Office and East Northumberland Secondary School on Nov. 27 and young people must be accompanied by an adult on the bus.

Both transportation and the event itself is free for all community members. It takes place from 6:30-8:30 p.m. this Friday.

For more information call 1-877-741-4577 and speak to either Mary LeRoy or Sonia Wilson.
