Firearms theft in Brighton

Northumberland OPP entered into an investigation that involved the theft of several firearms and ammunition in Brighton on Tuesday.

Earlier, a Carman Road resident reported a break-in, and it was determined the culprit or culprits forced a patio door open and made away with jewelry, a GoPro camera and five firearms:

• A Benelli SuperNova 12-gauge pump-action shotgun.

• A Winchester model 1400 12-gauge semi-automatic shotgun.

• A Winchester model 1200 12-gauge pump-action, serial number 2025084.

• A Winchester SuperX semi-automatic 12-gauge shotgun.

• An LR 22-ca. Crackshot antique rifle (circa 1913).

Northumberland OPP asks the public’s assistance with this ongoing investigation and would appreciate anyone with information on this crime calling the Brighton detachment at 613-475-1313 or 1-800-310-1122.
