Acrobats, artists and artisans have the run of King Street in Downtown Cobourg Saturday for the annual Busker and Art Festival.

From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. the streets will be filled with performers ranging from aerialists and artists to musicians and magicians. And with more than 60 vendors to visit, there will be lots to explore and experience.

Three stages will be set up (in front of Victoria Hall, in front of the TD Bank and in front of 92 King St. W.) will be set up to showcase 15 professional acts, while live artists cover the street in graffiti and chalk art.

The vendors include crafters, food service, entertainment and community groups — speaking of which the annual Walk A Mile In Her Shoes fundraiser for Cornerstone Family Violence Prevention Centre will send men in red high heels traipsing through the downtown at 11 a.m.

“The Busker and Art Festival is the first big ticket event of the season,” Downtown Business Improvement Area chairman Rino Ferreri said in a release.

“It will showcase Downtown Cobourg as a summer event destination.”

Regular updates on specific vendors and performers can be found on the Busker and Art Festival Facebook event page.
