Another grand opening tour planned in downtown Cobourg

The first Downtown Business Improvement Area Grand Opening Tour went so well that a 2.0 version is planned for June 22.

Cobourg DBIA event and communications co-ordinator Paige Montgomery has just issued the invitation for a tour that will welcome another four businesses to the downtown.

“We started off our grand opening season with a bang and want to keep the momentum rolling,” Montgomery said.

The tour starts at 11 a.m. at Craft Food House (201 Division St.), she said, “giving them the long-awaited opening they deserve.”

An 11:30 opening is planned for Just Things on King Street, a trinkets-and-treasures shop. Openings will follow at the new needlework-supplies store Artisanthropy at noon and at Sakura Sushi at 12:30 p.m.

It will be an opportunity to explore the new shops and restaurants, get a feel for the menus and merchandise, and meet the owners, Montgomery said.

“We are so excited to make it official for these businesses, and invite the public to come and celebrate with us,” DBIA board of management chair Adam Bureau said in the release.

“Each business deserves a special welcome to the downtown.”

The previous tour on June 3 welcomed the Poco Camino taproom and kitchen, the Ale House beer-and-food emporium, the Rustic Bean Coffee Co. And the Little Underground vintage- and retro-clothing store.

Everyone is welcome on the 2.0 version, Montgomery said, and she hopes anyone interested will sign up in advance by calling 905-377-8024.
