The Northumberland Business Advisory Centre has joined with chambers of commerce across the county in a partnership under the new name: Business & Entrepreneurship Centre Northumberland.
“The services we have here (based in Cobourg) are now available to all those outlying communities (through the partnership),” the county’s economic development director Dan Borowec said in an interview before the presentation of the new entity to county council Wednesday.
Northumberland County has been the umbrella organization for the Business Advisory Centre since 2014 supporting business start ups and expansions, and now with this “one of a kind model” involving the chambers in Brighton, Trent Hills, Cramahe, Port Hope and Cobourg it further expands the services, he explained.
“This is innovation at its finest” combining high tech and talent allowing more clients to be served at a local level, Borowec said.
“It’s an incredibly good fit,” he continued, and a critical part of the county’s own economic development plan.
