Manufacturers’ conference to be held in Cobourg
The Northumberland Manufacturers' Association, together with their respective associations in the Kawarthas and Quinte, are hosting the 12th annual conference in Cobourg – this one on innovation, motivation and collaboration.
“Manufacturers have the opportunity without leaving the local region to network and speak with experts on collaboration, advanced manufacturing, continuous improvement and innovative opportunities that can create a competitive edge to sustain and expand business locally and globally,” conference chair Brad Robertson stated in a media release.
A Master Magician, David Ben, is one of the featured speakers.
Asked how this ties in, the local manufacturing association's Judy Selvig said “with the 12th Annual Conference theme being “Creativity – Innovation – Collaboration” the organizing committee feel Mr. Ben is a perfect afternoon keynote speaker as he will relate his skill as a magician to the creative problem-solving and sales strategies required to be successful in business.
“It is also worthy to note that David Ben, in addition to being a Master Magician, has a BA from the University of Toronto and a law degree from The London School of Economics.”
The other key speaker is “Roger Firestien, author and senior faculty member at the International Centre of Studies in Creativity, State University of New York – Buffalo State, who will speak on Celebrating Innovation – How to be Deliberately Creative prior to leading a panel discussion on collaboration,” the release also states.
The Nov. 8 conference will also include a mini trade show and goes from 7:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. at the Best Western Cobourg Inn and Conference Centre.
