Ori Dagan (pictured) performs at the All-Canadian Jazz Festival on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 22.

On Friday night, the festival kicked off with performances by The Imprints (a Port Hope band re-uniting for the first time in about 30 years) and headliners Brass Transit.

Saturday’s events kicked off with the ‘Blow Your Own Horn’ Jazz Parade down Walton Street followed by performances in Memorial Park by the Heavyweights Brass Band, Dagan, the Jensen Sisters Sextet with Joel Miller, Heather Bambrick (who is also the festival MC) and the TD Canada Trust Young Jazz Showcase.

The headline concert Saturday evening at 7:30 features All-Canadian Legends (Terry Clark on drums, Jane Burnett on saxophone, Guido Basso on flugelhorn, Joe Sealy on piano, Dave Young on bass and Peter Appleyard on vibraphone). The cost for that show is $45.

A jazz service at St. John’s Anglican Church (35 Pine St. North) at 10:30 a.m. featuring The Mike Janzen Trio will get Sunday’s events underway. In the afternoon in Memorial Park, the Young Jazz Showcase is on stage at 12:15 followed by Sharon Riley & Faith Chorale at 1:15, Heavy Weather at 2:15, Diana Panton at 3:15 and the Swing Shift Big Band at 4:15. The cost for a day pass is $25.
